Morpho's software “MovieSolid® Ver.3.0” and “Morpho Panorama™ Giga Pixel” featured in Huawei’s smartphones "Ascend P6S" and “Ascend Mate 2“

Tokyo, Japan - March 18, 2014 – Morpho, Inc., a global leader in software image processing solutions for mobile devices, today announced that its video image stabilization software “MovieSolid® Ver.3.0” and high resolution panorama image generation software “Morpho Panorama™ Giga Pixel” will be integrated to new smartphones “Ascend P6S” and “Ascend Mate 2” which will be launched by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider.

“MovieSolid” is a technology which compensates motion jitter while capturing video with smartphone. By comparing the previous frame and the current frame, it detects the amount of motion in Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF: horizontal, vertical, forward/backward, horizontal rotation, vertical rotation, and rotation upon optical axis), and outputs the corrected current frame in real time. Also, the product corrects geometric distortion (rolling shutter distortion) caused by CMOS sensor.

“Morpho Panorama™ Giga Pixel” is a technology for generating a panorama image in real-time simply with smooth camera motion along the scene. It utilizes Morpho’s original motion detection technology “SOFTGYRO®” for high precision alignment and adjusts luminance while merging high resolution images to produce smooth panorama image with fine detail.Furthermore, it automatically detects whether the panorama image is a landscape or portrait from the horizontal/vertical movement of the camera to assist users for easy use.
